In her creative journey, artist Chen Si-Ting continuously explores the Six Dynasties' Yongwu perspective on life. Utilizing landscapes, flowers, and rocks as her visual vocabulary, she articulates the transient and dream-like nature of the human world. Within her works, insights into life subtly flow through exquisite scenery, constructing a spiritual realm that transcends mere forms and appearances.
Her artwork frequently features elements such as Taihu rocks, mermaids, and resurrection plants, demonstrating the connection and resonance between natural landscapes and inner aspirations, thereby expressing the subtle and profound sentiments that shift with external surroundings. The myriad shapes of the Taihu rocks symbolize a state of being where "a world born of a single stone." The tiny mermaids connected with the bases of rocks and the roots of flora serve as a metaphor for the delicate and fleeting nature of life. The ethereal resurrection plants embody the imagery of Buddhist rebirth. Adhering to the philosophy of Wuse perspective, Chen doesn’t merely use objects to convey her thoughts; instead, she emphasizes portraying the very appearance and vitality of things. Through the use of intense and saturated colors, she presents both vibrant natural scenery and a rich inner world.
Chen Si-Ting hopes to make the meanings of her paintings more accessible to viewers and convey the creative spirit of the mutual generation between virtual and real. We cordially invite you to step into this intertwined world, experiencing the artist's nuanced contemplation of life amid the shadows of flowers and stone landscapes and finding a reflection of your own soul.
