      2026年馬年之初，藝術家塵三於穎川畫廊推出全新個展《悅馬馳山》。展名將「躍」提升為「悅」，這一字之差，道出了塵三對生命的理解：真正的自由，也許在征服與超越後，更多是與天地同行時那份發自內心的喜悅。

At the opening of 2026, the Year of the Horse, artist Chen San presents his new solo exhibition A Joyful Gallop at In River Gallery. The exhibition title elevates the character (躍), which means leap to (悅) joy, a subtle but meaningful shift that reflects Chen San's understanding of life: true freedom. Perhaps, it is less about conquest or transcendence, and more about the deep, quiet joy that comes from moving alongside the world.

     塵三的作品從來不是炫技的展示，而像是一場無聲的修行。在寂靜無人的世界裡，堅定地披荊斬棘，開創一條無人穿過的道路。所以有時畫面看起來激昂熱烈、有時又沉靜如深潭內靜止的水。心志堅毅如翻越陡峭冰山時，即使迎面是刺骨的寒風亦無所懼。其畫筆下呈現的是生命當下狀態的自然流露。筆觸時而奔放如馬蹄奔騰，時而沉靜如山巒屹立，但無論動靜，都有一種「悅」的底色，那是經過歲月淘洗後，對存在本身的深刻見解。
 
Chen San’s work is never a display of artistic skills; rather, it resembles a silent form of spiritual practice. In a quiet, uninhabited world, Chen San continuously cuts through thorns and obstacles, carving a path no one has walked before. At times, the images appear passionate and intense; for others, his paintings are as still as water resting in the depths of a tranquil pool. With a will as resolute as one climbing a steep iceberg, fears no biting wind ahead. What emerges beneath the brush is the natural expression of life in its present state. The brushstrokes are sometimes as unrestrained as galloping hooves, sometimes as composed as mountains standing firm; yet, whether in motion or stillness, there is always an underlying tone of joy. A joy shaped by the cleansing passage of time and by a profound insight into existence itself.

     馬年的意義，對塵三來說不只是生肖的符號，而是一種精神的召喚。馬象徵著自由的力量與追逐夢想的前進力，在《悅馬馳山》中，這些特質都被轉化為更內在的狀態：力量不是征服，而是經歷過種種困難仍願意承擔；自由不是避世，而是大隱隱於市；遠行不是逃離，而是更加貼近對世界的認識。畫面中那些層疊的色彩、流動的線條，像是馬蹄踏過人生道路時揚起的塵土，也像是時間在畫布上留下的溫柔印記。畫中的筆觸韻律都潛藏著藝術家對”未知”探索的渴望 !

For Chen San, the Year of the Horse goes beyond the symbol of the Chinese zodiac sign; it is a call to something more meaningful. The horse represents freedom and the drive to pursue dreams. In A Joyful Gallop, these qualities are transformed into inner strength, for power is not about conquest, but about the willingness to shoulder burdens despite hardship. Freedom is not about leaving the world behind, but about gaining a deeper understanding of it. The painting’s multiple-layered colours and brushstrokes evoke both the dust kicked up by the horse’s hooves as it traverses life’s path and the gentle imprint of time on the canvas. These brushstrokes subtly reveal the artist’s yearning to explore the unknown.

    《悅馬馳山》此展提醒我們：前行本身不是問題，而是我們是否還記得為何出發，並且還能在前進中感受到喜悅。在生活中找到屬於自己的步調，在變動中保持內心的從容，在馳騁中不忘初心，或許這就是塵三在馬年想要分享的智慧。

The exhibition A Joyful Gallop reminds us that moving forward is not the challenge; rather, it is whether we still remember why we set out on the journey and whether we can still feel joy along the journey.  It is about finding a pace that belongs to oneself, maintaining inner peace amid change, and staying true to one’s original intentions while galloping forward. Perhaps this is the wisdom Chen San wishes to share in the year of the Horse.
